I suffered a really bad blister (now bleeding profusely) but marched hysterically stupidly forward on a very badly damaged foot towards Lorca.
Rubin’s assistant, (I guess she was from Mexico) immediately took over, disinfected the wound and literally shoved me into a little car to go to the hospital in Estella.
A elderly older farmer drove me all the way to the hospital and patiently quietly waited with me for four hours until I was released again.
He refused any KIND OF PAYMENT.
I was truly humbled by the generosity and plain human decency of all involved.
This was perhaps my Camino moment.
I wish I knew who they were…

One of my favorite stays. Ruben was incredibly welcoming and kind. Our room was clean and comfortable. And like most albergues we’ve stayed in, the beds are comfortably firm as are the pillows. Great area to hang out in and chat with others. One highlight - a foot bath with epson salts…so nice!

We were greeted so kindly by Reuben and made to feel right at home! It’s a nice facility and we enjoyed the sun porch and the foot bath! The food was delicious and would definitely recommend staying here!!

On October 25th, 2023 we arrived in Lorca exhausted and looking forward to staying here. A man sitting in the bar said the albergue was full-no room. We had to hike another 4 miles to Villatuerta…We stayed at Casa Magica and got a great nights sleep. The following morning we met some pilgrims that spent the previous night in Lorca; they arrived after us and got a bed. Still not sure why we were turned away and other ladies weren’t.

Albergue is just about ok. Shower was good but Double bed was really uncomfortable. We tried to make a snack but there is NO shop in Lorca and anyway, the kitchen items were definitely not the cleanest.

We payed €70 for a double room with no food..50 would have been fair..enjoyed the evening meal but it was also overpriced..host was not very friendly

We were warmly welcomed and shown all the facilities. We had a 3 bedded room which shared a bathroom with 1 other room. Kitchen to make cup of tea. Bowls and epsom salts for soaking tired feet. Excellent clothes drying area.
Bar downstairs open til 6pm .
We also had a very generous 4 course pilgrim dinner.

The rooms are relatively small , 8 beds (4 bunks). Good washing machine & drying area
Pilgrim dinner was okay!
Beware- the bar closes early! But there is another across the road ( for breakfast too).
We stayed on Good Friday night - so this may not be normal.

Camino de Sant…

Excellent Albergue. One of the best so far. Very clean and many services: kitchen, laundry room, eating area and lovely rooms. Excellent coffee and friendly service.
