Camino de Sant… (not verified)

There is a new, very modern and warm albergue now, just opened in April 22. Kitchen without any supplies, but other than that very nice and clean facilities. New good beds, very friendly hospitalera. 40 beds in 1 dorm, but they tried to make sure everybody has some privacy and also placed sockets and lights at every bed. Very nice place now.

Camino de Sant…

If you want a basic monastery experience then this may be the stop for you. It is a cold damp dormitory but it is also quiet atmospheric. The 2 bars in the village both have some basic food options ( fried eggs and chorizo for example ) and neither opened before 8:30 for breakfast so you may need to do some planning. The albergue had a microwave but no cups knives or any kitchen utensils at all so don’t plan to cook.

Camino de Sant…

Beautiful monastery (join a guided group) but the albergue isn’t very comfortable because of the humidity and the cold, even in July. But I still don’t regret staying here

Camino de Sant…

Spent two nights in the monastery - It's quite a special place - Some things to consider: It's freezing cold at night, but they do provide blankets. I made a man-cave which comprised of two blankets below me then my own sheet, plus I wore all my clothes which included a thermal wool jumper and scalf - Then had my sleeping bag plus two blankets on top of me - then - for my man-cave walls, I hung and tucked 5!!! Blankets all around the bed frame so I was completely enclosed - Only then was I warm enough.
The current Hospitalero is a very lovely person - Jerrard. *The Museum is well worth a visit, they also make and sell great chocolate available at the museum entrance. * The cafe nearby is truly abysmal and so is the food choice and so is the service - if you plan to stay at the monastery try to bring as much food with you as possible!! - H.J.Appleby
