Camino de Sant…

The albergue is open, not sure why someone said it was closed. Ezequiel is a very nice guy, and as with many it has been a hard year for him. It is a basic no frills albergue, with many beds in the room, but for the price it's good, and as I said, helping a guy like Ezequiel is well worth it to stay. Plenty of bars, a supermarket, etc all within a few blocks.

Camino de Sant…

I guess the albergue was closed for a time. Ezeqiuel only took over Albas about a month ago. He moved here from Argentina and hopes to bring the rest of his family soon. Even though the hostel is a few minutes off of the camino, it really is worth it. It is a dorm setting, but cheap. And many options nearby for food, supermarket and pharmacy. And even better the beds are on the first floor!!! No stairs, unless you get the top bunk (sorry).

Camino de Sant…

This Albergue is run with pilgrims in mind. Clean, nice showers, good washing possibilities, decent bunks. The owner was really friendly and he’d put bananas and some snacks on everyone’s night tables. These little things - like having a locker, night table and hooks - really make a difference. The place was locked in the evening and we got a code that we could enter with, which also felt safe in a bigger city. However, all bunks are in one large dormitory and even at 50% capacity due to covid it felt a bit crowded. Location is a bit off the camino. We were happy with our stay here!

Camino de Sant…

After a wee bit of confusion how to enter the Albergue (hint look for the owner at the bar immediately to the right where I think he also works, if no one answers the door), I settled in to a very nice 2 night stay. He offered me lemon water, free apple, ear plugs and a schedule of events for San Mateo festival all without my asking! Just anticipating my needs. Got a nice warm blanket when I asked for it. Was allowed to sleep all day if I wanted for my rest. A bit crowded as had been said but clean and easy to come and go. Loved the locker!
