Loved my stay!!! This is a brand new albergue here it worth staying at. The host is so kind, helpful, and welcoming! The place is spotless, has air conditioner and the beds are nice and private with a shade. The bathrooms and showers were clean and plentiful! When I was here the restaurant nearby was closed (Wednesdays) so we went to a local grocery store ( a 2 min walk) and got groceries to make a meal. The albergue had everything we needed. Pans, knives, oil, cutting board etc. They even have washing detergent for you for free when handwashing your clothes. A nice bar with drinks, coffee and snacks too. A beautiful courtyard to hang out! I really enjoyed my stay!!! A hidden gem!!!!

I stayed in this albergue last night. It's only been open a couple of weeks, so brand new. Everything was sparkling clean. They have a few private rooms. They have separate dormitories, toilets, and showers for women and men. The beds are bunk beds, but very modern, every bed has their own reading light and outlet, the mattress is comfortable, and there is a curtain that you can use to increase privacy while sleeping. A well equipped kitchen if you want to cook. The guy working in the reception/bar was really helpful and nice. The price for the dormitory bed was 16 € including disposable sheet. This was for me by far the best abergue on the Frances so far.

Called in to this albergue for a cool drink. It opened only last week and we were so impressed by the beautiful modern facilities. Most of all, the host was one of the loveliest people we have met on out Camino. He could not do enough for us, filling my husband’s water bottle and even adding ice. If you are looking for accommodation in Villadangis Del Paramo I would highly recommend this albergue based on the amazing facilities and wonderful friendly host.

We checked into Hostel Alto Paramo and Rosa greeted us and offered us two rooms on the first floor when it could have been the second floor. My sister had a medical emergency and Rosa and her mother drove us to the medical clinic. My sister ended up being ambulance to Hospital Leon. Than Rosa’s mother drove me and my two other sisters to Leon to the hospital and than a hostel. Rosa also took care of the booking. We couldn’t have done this without them.

This was our first stop from our Leon Camino start. We were greeted and checked in efficiently to a tidy and comfortable room. The hot shower was definitely welcome. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived in the afternoon. A full service meal was available in the bar for dinner. The staff was very attentive to a full room of patrons and pilgrims. Breakfast was served with three options - a tortilla, fresh donut, or a breakfast cake. The coffee is good; fresh juice is also available. We enjoyed our stay.

A disappointing experience to endure a hostess with a horrible attitude. We really felt that pilgrims are not welcome here. The hostal is on the side of a main road. Paid for breakfast which consisted of toast and coffee. Would not recommend this hostal.
Would recommend continuing to Hospital de Orbigo and not stop at Villadangos.

On a Sunday at 3 pm. The restaurant was very busy however this is no excuse for serving awful food. We had snappy service from the waitresses. Ordered beef, was served a plate of cold beef and chips. The beef was mostly fat and the meat was so tough that it just wasn’t edible. Avoid.

Do yourself a favour if you take this route and add the extra kms to your day to reach the town. There is nothing available at the Avenida 3 and yes, it is a transport cafe next door who don’t seem to be as affiliated with perregrinos as the rest of the Camino.

If you’ve not read my review to take the scenic route and are considering staying here keep walking unless you’ve brought a picnic from San Miguel!

The stay at Hotel Avenida III is okay but don’t expect a warm welcome. You’ll check yourself in and food is only available at the Hostel Avenida II, however they’re not accommodating the restaurant (which is basically a truck stop cafe, opens at 8:30pm. Our group walked toward the petrol station and crossed the very fast busy road to visit the other Hostel, we had a beer and waited until 7:30 pm for food. I would recommend taking the scenic route shortly after leaving La Virgin del Camino, you’re missing nothing walking the official route.

Located a little out of the way (700 m) where the truck drivers stop and eat. It was worth the walk, very good and well-prepared food, good wine and nice bar staff. Can recommend!
