Do yourself a favour if you take this route and add the extra kms to your day to reach the town. There is nothing available at the Avenida 3 and yes, it is a transport cafe next door who don’t seem to be as affiliated with perregrinos as the rest of the Camino.

If you’ve not read my review to take the scenic route and are considering staying here keep walking unless you’ve brought a picnic from San Miguel!

The stay at Hotel Avenida III is okay but don’t expect a warm welcome. You’ll check yourself in and food is only available at the Hostel Avenida II, however they’re not accommodating the restaurant (which is basically a truck stop cafe, opens at 8:30pm. Our group walked toward the petrol station and crossed the very fast busy road to visit the other Hostel, we had a beer and waited until 7:30 pm for food. I would recommend taking the scenic route shortly after leaving La Virgin del Camino, you’re missing nothing walking the official route.

Located a little out of the way (700 m) where the truck drivers stop and eat. It was worth the walk, very good and well-prepared food, good wine and nice bar staff. Can recommend!

The restaurant at Hotel Avenida is a good stop for lunch or a snack, but keep walking to San Martin if you can for better accommodations.

I stayed here after a very stormy day. The hotel Avenida III was unoccupied and quirky but pleasant, clean and my room had a bath. All in all a reasonable stop but a truck-stop. Locals, drivers and Pilgrims all in one place was quite nice but not the charming towns you see (note, there is no town here)

Hotel Avenida Is next to a truck stop with bar and restaurant. Within the hotel there is only self serve snacks and drinks / the restaurant/bar is 60 m away and full of truck drivers and local workers. The menu del dia was good value, but its on a busy toad junction and very noisy. This idn’t made clear in the description.

Camino de Sant…

Both Hotel Avenida and Hostal del Paramo has great lunch. Hostal Paramo is an OK Hostal to stay in, but Villadamgos is an odd place to stay over, as there is no town village as such. OK if you are really tired.

Bar la Plaza is a fantastic place for tapas and 2nd breakfast. We arrived at 1100 on Saturday and they were offering a full menu. Very kind and hospitable. Highly recommend them. Buen Camino
