This was my favourite stay during my two tweek camino. Since there are only nine beds available, the experience was much more personal and intimate than in other albergues. In the evening Elena and her sister cooked a wonderfull meal for us (also the best I’ve had so far). There were only five other guest that evening, with whom I had lovely conversations during dinner and at breakfast. The atmosphere was very authentic and Elena made everyone feel so welcome. So it really depends on what you are looking for, but if this type of experience sounds like something you would enjoy, then Elenas home is the right place to go <3

Helena is a wonderful hostess. There were only three of us staying. Plenty of room to move around. Comfortable old home. Very quiet. Lovely and delicious homemade dinner! I had terrible blisters and very sore feet and Helena made me a foot bath to soak my feet in. It was amazing and helped so much. Best stay so far !!

This is well worth adapting your Camino for a stop. The host is lovely and couldn’t be more accommodating.
The food is amazing.
A great ambience. So glad we stopped. The local bar is also worth a visit

I am writting this post a year later, since last year I did’t use this app.
This place and Helena are one of the most special place I was. Simple but so warm, full of love. No bunk beds. You have a plenty of space aroun your bed. Dinner was great.
I had luck to meet a local bask artist who talked about bask culture and sang some songs.
It is a realy special place. If you’re looking for some place filled with love, don’t miss it❤️

We had a wonderful stay at the Perla Negra. The house is beautiful and we felt instantly at home and welcome. The host is very warm and friendly. We had a homemade dinner there as well and it was like a meal we would cook at home. Simple, vegetarian, healthy and plenty. Breakfast was also tasty, some things are even organic. Up in the dorm it was a little bit cold but with our sleeping bag we had a good night. Gread atmosphere, would stay there again.

One of the most expensive places I’ve stayed at, with a VERY average experience. The cheapest dinner, veg stew and beans (for healthy lifestyle… whist owner smokes out the back…) owner is clearly in it for the money and takes advantage.

It’s ok, if needing a stop and happy to pay the cost of convenience.

Helena opens her home to pilgrims and makes us feel welcome. Facilities are clean and beds are set up with plenty of space to spread out. No bunk beds! Dinner was plentiful and Helena rings you off with a little tinkle bell as you set off the next morning. This place was delightful!

Lovely, small albergue off stage. There’s an albergue cat named Gordito. Helena is a fantastic, caring host. The vegetarian pilgrims meal was superb! Lovely to sit down with pilgrims from all over the world in this intimate setting. Thank you Denise from Texas USA
