Historic renovation in this traditional Maragateria style building. Very safe and comfortable. I stayed in the Salon building and had it all to myself in late June. Nice beds, pillows etc. he packed a breakfast for me so I could leave early. If I lived here closer I would stay and bring my bike for some nice riding in the area.
Only downside To the village is minimal dinner choices depending on the day of the week. Ended up atthe Albuergue with other pilgrims for dinner which was fun.

Give yourself a treat and stay for a night (or two) here! Book a bit ahead if you can. My room had a massive tub - perfect for a warm bath to sooth my muscles. The view from the shared living room is beautiful, and everything is of nice quality. The owners are lovely and are very welcoming of pilgrims. A basic breakfast is included, and a more hearty one is avail for purchase.

This place is just wonderful - it looks and feels like a mountain luxury retreat. Amazing views and wonderful hosts. Superb quiet location! Full of history! I only wish my partner was with me so I could share this with them!

Quite surprised to find such luxury in a small village. I was disappointed when we couldn’t locate accommodations in Astorga. We enjoyed the beautiful home, quiet atmosphere, lovely seating. Extraordinary views, comfortable room, modern shower and excellent indoor air quality. Clean. Well managed. Good breakfast.

This place is a little gem, hidden away in this tiny town. I’m so glad we chose to stay here, the owner is so friendly and helpful. He washed our clothes at no extra charge. The room was delightful, good shower, super soft towels and own brand bathroom products.

Breakfast starts from 7am and is well worth indulging in before you head off on the trail. The room you have breakfast in is a sight to behold, lovingly restored using natural materials and bird themed decorations - every room has its own bird name and reasoning behind it.

€80 for a double room. Money well spent if you ask me :)

Hotel Vía Avis was absolutely one of our favorite spots on the whole Camino! The owners, Carlos and his wife, were warm and welcoming. They spent many years building this lovely Hotel Rural, creating a unique and delightful haven. Carlos' wife is an architect, and demonstrated a beautifully unique architectural style when designing the place. We stayed in the Owl Room. It was so charming, so quaint, so different. Very clean and comfortable. The adjacent common area had spectacular views across the valley. We could have stayed here for a month! It was a welcome place to rest and renew. And the town itself is just delightful, with its homes of rock with brightly painted doors and windows. We loved everything about the town and this hotel. We highly recommend that you stay here if you can while on your Camino....Ami & Rick, May 17, 2024

Camino de Sant… (not verified)

The home, truly it is a home, and beautifully done. There are very strong efforts of attention to detail. The decor is impecable and the vistas into the countryside are great. I would go there just to rest and relax. The owners are wonderful. True hosts.

Perfect place to 'upgrade' for one night of luxury, yet in a true Camino spirit, this sounds contradictory but is really true. The owners are kind lovely warm people who have created a haven of peace and tranquillity. Ensuite rooms, with a separate living area and various courtyard hideaway spots. Breakfast served (from 7) included in price and itself worth staying for.
No dinner, but 1 mins walk to two albergue restaurants. Santa Catalina is itself a tranquil lively spot and the views (from Via Avis and the village) magnificent.

An absolute haven of peace and beauty. I cannot fault a single thing. The best bed I have slept in in years. Great shower, salon with views across to the mountains and with an honesty bar kettle and snacks.
Unbelievable breakfast!
The hosts could not be more welcoming and gracious. This was just wonderful. Sad to leave.
