Yes, Albergue "En El Camino"

The fields surrounding Boadilla are dotted with adobe palomares (dovecotes). Find your way towards one and explore the interior, which holds thousand of niches.

Adjacent to the town square is the Romanesque Iglesia de la Asunción and a well preserved Rollo de Justicia, a 15th century stone column to which criminals were chained while their punishments were meted out.

The best albergue in town (also in the square) is worth a visit even if you don’t plan to stay there. Behind the unpretentious walls is a garden oasis complete with a pool and art.

Fiesta

Saint Anthony of Padua is celebrated from the 13th to the 15th of June.

The Road

The camino leaving Boadilla soon joins a path that runs alongside the Canal de Castilla. You will follow along the canal until the outskirts of Frómista, where you cross at one of the locks. This canal was used for both transportation and irrigation.

On entering the albergue, I was very impressed. It has a beautiful garden and the accommodation is charming and rustic. Less impressive was the fact that only one of the 4 handbasins was working, the holders for the handshowers were both broken and the tubs for handwashing contained many months of leaves and without a water supply, forcing guests to handwash in the only handbasin that worked. Sheets and pillowcases were not supplied, unlike most of the other albergues I've stayed in. There is no kitchen or kettle, so you need to eat in the adjacent hotel, that operates the albergue. There are no shops in the town and the other albergue is closed on Monday and Friday. This could have been a memorable stay, but unfortunately, I will remember it for the wrong reasons.

The host Edoardo is great and his mum cooks amazing food!

Camino de Sant…

Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The food is served in 2 rooms, it is cheap plenty and fast, with good vine.
Small rooms with 3 bunk beds.
The garden is a small paradise. Stay here instead of going on to Frómista.

Camino de Sant…

This is one of the cleanest Albergue I ever stay at, and I’m glad I didn’t to further down to Frómista. The bedroom is spotless clean not a single hair drop on the floor. The host guy are so nice as well.

Camino de Sant…

Last year I stayed in the Alberque En.el Camino, this year I wanted a private room to be a little safer (or not from Covid) and spent a little more and stayed in the hotel.
As the title suggests they are worlds apart, the menu for the evening meal is the same as last year in the Alberque, tasty and fresh, the interior of the place is beautiful and not as bland as the outside, cool and clean an open terrace filled with flowers has the heat to dry you washing in hours. Good prices for a hotel, treat yourself to a stay and you will not regret it.

Camino de Sant…

Albergue has a swimmingpool. Do I need to say more. 36 degrees outside and I m lying next to the pool in the garden.
