Camino de Sant… (not verified)

Amazing albergue - recently built in an old shepherd’s house and barn. Everything new and clean - well organized and 1 bathroom for 4 beds. Host is awesome - very friendly and helpful. Excellent homemade dinner, simple breakfast and you can purchase a takeout lunch. Highly recommended!

Laurent is a gracious and helpful host. Our pilgrim dinner was delicious, all cooked by Laurent, and we got to know other pilgrims we still run into along the Way. Highly recommend!

Laurent was so kind to cook especially Vegan for me! Staying here was a great start in the Camino. We had our first pelgrims dinner and Laurent made sure everyone got A turn to introduce themself! In the morning the view was amazing!
The beds have a curtain and this made it super cosy!

I stayed here in mid-May and second all the wonderful comments. Highly recommended!

Camino de Sant…

You must stay here if you’re aiming to break up the trek from St. Jean to Roncesvalles. It’s a kilometer further up the mountain from Refuge Orisson. The place is new, only having opened in May 2021. Laurent is a gracious host with a great sense of humor, who also prepares excellent and filling dinners. Auberge Borda is a labor of love for him. The renovated barn and shepherd’s hut that he converted into the auberge is a modern and comfortable place. You can tell he is a pilgrim by all the thoughtful touches throughout. There are no bunk beds, with privacy curtains for your own nook, your own outlet with a small basket nearby to hold your phone, with a reading light. A pillow and a disposable bed sheet are provided. I saw some blankets but had brought my own sleeping bag. Four people share a space with two sinks, a shower and a toilet. There is space for 12 pilgrims total, with one private room. Backpacks, shoes and poles are not allowed in the rooms. You are given a small bin to place your necessities in to bring up to your space. There is plenty of hot water for a 5 minute shower (which you can pause while soaping). Washing machine and dryer are available for a fee, but also lots of laundry racks if you prefer to wash your clothes yourself. Best of all, the communal dinner is a chance to meet your Camino family. We had a wonderful and laughter-filled time with new friends. Thanks so much, Laurent!

Camino de Sant…

Laurent will feed you very well, in accommodation that ticks all the boxes; quiet, views, well organised.
Absolutely loved it here, would recommend anyone to stay.

Camino de Sant…

Laurent has worked hard to create a place that offers little amenities that mean a lot mentioned in other reviews. He’s helpful, kind, and offers a great pilgrim dinner and breakfast. Also packed lunches to go for an extra fee.
We enjoyed our night here and would stay again!
