Probably the weirdest stay at the Camino.
The Albergue (house) looks very new outside but coming inside everything looks like that you’re back in the sixties 😩
The owner is very pushy with everything.
It’s very clean everywhere but the bedrooms are very old fashioned and so are the mattresses. You feel the iron rings in the mattress all over your body.
There are some old blankets in case it’s cold at night. But no idea how long they already in the old blanket chest.

We had to pay €20 each. €40 for these rooms is not worth it.
The owner said to us that we could have dinner. He has a supermarket (also very old fashioned) next to the Albergue.
We could choose some food for dinner, but it was nothing more than paella in plastic and the salade aswell. Ready for the microwave.
That is not making a dinner for guests.
This stay was very disappointing.

It was so cold when we stayed here but the host would not let us turn on the heat:(

Host uses his translation app and has a very pleasant nature. Very clean. Twin beds in three rooms and a wonderful hot shower that was so appreciated. Pilgrim dinner for 13 Euros sounds amazing. The grocery store is pretty awesome. But yes, you can’t use the stove. They use it to make pilgrim dinners and it is the glass top ceramic but I suspect some pilgrims have been rough on it thereby ruining it for other pilgrims who like cooking their own food. You cannot bang pots down on these cooktops. I’ve gotten used to only buying food when I know a stove is available as I don’t use microwaves.

Although there is a stove I was forbidden to use. I carried a lot for cooking from last town. How to Cook pasta in a microwave.? The Host did not remember my reservation and now I have to pay 20 € in an very oldfashioned room with two beds.

I did a reservation by whatapp and I received confirmation. On my way I also sent another message by informing about my arrival time. When I arrived the owner told me that the place was full (I noticed that a group was just arrived), and me proposed an uncomfortable sofa that I refused. Don't trust your reservation with this guy.

The host does not speak English, which makes everything difficult. I had called to reserve a bed. They seemed to understand me during the phone conversation. When I came, the host no longer knows anything. Made to sleep on the sofa, which was uncomfortable. Made to pay the same amount (15 eur) as those who had a normal room with a bed. WiFi is weak and works intermittently. Bank payment cards are accepted.

I stayed here last night. Pros: there is a bathtub in the downstairs bathroom. No one tells you there’s a downstairs bathroom but there is lol. The dinner was very good and from talking to others seem to have been the best thing in town. The older couple running the place are both very nice. The bread that they use for sandwiches is outstanding and they will put extra ingredients like vegetables on your sandwich if you ask nicely. The place is nicely clean. Cons: The sheets had not been changed. I had heard that was a thing but I slept on top of the bedspread and I was very glad I had my sleeping bag liner. Also the place is extremely dated straight out of 1972 which is disheartening when you walk in.

Hospitable and obliging hosts. Clean. Good facilities. Next door to supermarket. Good food and best value.

Camino de Sant…

I had reservations for Hogar de Peregrinos. When I arrived they asked what I was doing there. I told them I had reservations there. They said, "No you don't." I told them when I called and they said, well, we're just closed. They didn't even phone me to tell me my reservations were cancelled. Luckily, there was one more open albergue in town and I got a bed there. That could be why they didn't seem too concerned about closing.

Kind host also runs the grocery store next door (closes 2pm to 5pm). She will help you get what you need and makes a generous dinner for 11€. Everything is clean and functional and comfortable. Decor reminds me of my grandparents. Recommend!
