Albergue Parroquial Apóstol Santiago

El Acebo

Description and Notice

Run by the same organization that runs the albergue in Ponferrada, this is considerably smaller and more pleasant. It has a beautiful and sunny (fingers crossed) patio with an Acebo (holly) tree in the middle.

DO NOT STAY HERE. We saw a review saying there were be bugs, so we asked the hospitalero. Not only did he say there were no beg bugs, he got angry at us for asking and told us it was insulting and we could stay elsewhere if we wanted. He said "would it be open if there were bed bugs??" Later in the evening a pilgrim found bed bugs! She also said that it was clear that he had tried to prevent them using powder. So it seems he lied to us. At least he gave us our €5 back...

Camino de Sant…

I loved this albergue, it's small and there was one hospitalero who was funny and friendly. We cooked and ate dinner together, it's a lovely community atmosphere.

Camino de Sant…

This is a really nice hostel. Dorms are wooden and sectioned off so it doesn’t feel like one big room. You have to leave your large backpack downstairs which really isn’t a problem. Mattresses are good, shower is powerful and there is a large garden for clothes hanging, relaxing, etc. Breakfast and dinner are included. WiFi is strong.

The donativo is open, I stayed here on 11th of september 2020. Because of the covid there can be served no breakfast or dinner. The place was Nice and clean. The hospitalero was helpful.
