Wegbeschreibung:

The camino turns right and into Villavante, though some old yellow arrows continue straight ahead (painted on the elevated irrigation canal). The reason for the detour around town is to avoid a surface crossing of the dangerous rail lines at the edge of town. The distance added is worth the elevated crossing, as the trains pass deceptively fast.

We stayed at this albergue because we were too tired and didn’t want to continue to Hospital de Obirgo. Albergue was very clean and the lady at reception was very polite and friendly.

As recommended unless you are very agile I would walk over the railway bridge and turning left. There is no formal crossing here so you have to climb a stone embankment look for trains and walk swiftly across and down again. The Spanish ATV trains cover 1k in 11 seconds! I walked across but after I saw a train go by I would have walked around. So don’t stop to take a photo! You have been warned.

This alternative route is away from the main road but is long flat straight and a bit boring?! I had a welcome break here. Breakfast, fresh orange juice and a friendly smile from everyone I met.

This place only survives as it’s the only place in town and it’s geographically a good distance from León for a day’s walk. Don’t stay here. Owner is unfriendly and food isn’t great. Leaving all my reviews at the end of my trip so know full well all the other places I stayed were better as from villavante on I researched and checked reviews on here and elsewhere
