The Road

More than halfway between San Nicolás and Sahagún the camino departs from the dirt track and crosses the highway. It heads towards the Ermita de la Virgen del Puente. Just beyond the ermita stands a monument which marks the geographical center of the camino, the halfway point. Naturally the math doesn’t quite add up, but you can be certain that you have crossed that half way point sometime between Moratinos and Sahagún.

I wish I’d read the comments better before passing through San Nicolás. It’s tire, the green dots on the app don’t match the path. If it hadn’t been for a couple of pilgrims yelling because I’d passed the mostly-hidden yellow arrow without turning, I would’ve continued on my merry way. I think it would’ve been okay - I saw bikers on the path from a distance much later. But I’m glad I followed the pilgrims and arrows in this case.

Thank you Daniela for an easy check-in and welcoming stay. The Albergue is clean, comfortable, homey and the people are very welcoming ... delicious food and always willing to serve pilgrims. Well worth the stay and very near to Sahagun.

We stopped for lunch as we were oassing through. The host was welcoming and food excellent. He offered to wrap some for us to take away as it was too much to eat. The food was made fresh when we ordered it and was worth the wait.

After walking for 10 days and the heat of the last couple of days I could do with a bit of a break and decided to stop in a smaller village. Finding this albergue was a gift. Nice, clean, quiet, tasty food… and the lady even gave me a room all to myself. I can only recommend this place ! Thank you!

I have a lot of food allergies so finding food on the Camino is really difficult. Not only was the staff so kind and understanding of my issues but they made sure that all of my allergies were taken care of. I had the best salad of the Camino and made with so much love! They even had almond milk and made me the best an almond milk latte ever!

From San Nicolás to Sahagún, the green dots on the app don’t match the current official trail marked by yellow arrows. The yellow arrows follow the road and might be shorter. The track has been planted with trees every few meters, so there is some shadow. It would be good to feature both in the app, but when in doubt I follow the arrows.
