A small village with a church, an ermita, and a truck-stop restaurant with a reputation for decent hot chocolate — a combination that sounds unlikely but works. The albergue is the first house you reach coming into town, and the hospitaleros are welcoming.

Not much to detain you otherwise, but the hot chocolate has earned a following.

History

The town takes its current name from Francisco Delgado López, a native son who served as Bishop of Jaén and Lugo and was one of the most respected Counter-Reformation theologians at the Council of Trent. Before that, the village was known as Villa de Pun.

Albergue Bideluze is gorgeous, with lovely gardens and atmosphere. Food was great, hospitality exceptional and the showers are a whole new level. Superb.

What a gem! Restful gardens in the back. Washing machine or hand wash. Fabulous clothesline across the road in the sunshine and breeze. Meal was delicious and homemade. Vegetable soup, stewed beef and boiled potatoes. Not fries.
The Albergue is so clean.
Highly recommend.

Oh boy, what a wee gem this place is. Excellent hosts. Spotless rooms and beds. Beautiful garden out the back. An older house recently refurbished and updated. I could honestly stay a week. Highly, highly recommended.

What a warm welcome in a quiet village. The house was so beautiful and the rooms so clean and big, the garden was a picture and the food was delicious! Could not have staid at a nicer place.
