Don’t miss out on this one! Amazing dinner and breakfast. Host is fabulous.Beautiful garden. It’s a hike out of Guernika so be ready for that uphill climb, but wish every place was like this one.

This place is highly recommended!
Warm and friendly hosts, good beds and the best dinner we had so far. Bouillon Soup to add some salt back in, fantastic salad, vegetarian option and fresh fruits for dessert.
Breakfast was fabulous too, finally yogurt and granola and not only tostada with jam.
The funny dog, chickens and birds and an outside garden are nice to enjoy as well.

We were welcomed, shown comfortable rooms and had a delicious dinner and breakfast community style. There are vegetarian options. Best salad of the entire Norte!

This was a great place in late March 2024. The sleeping arrangements are simple. The shower is amazing - especially in the big stall with the toilet. Dinner was fantastic and served with flair by the host. Breakfast was robust! A great stay!

At least in early March. I have never been so cold at night in a hostel, since they turned off the heat one hour after turning it on. If you want to cook, it costs 1 euro and the stove is actually outside. No kettle, microwave or toaster. No hot water except for the showers (which were great). The washer and dryer were the most expensive I've seen on 6 caminos (5 euro for each). Beds were OK. The dinner was excellent and plentiful. Cute place but not great if you are cold, wet and need to wash your things. Hosts were nice.

Host family speaks very good English. the nice elderly lady host said usually everyday is fully booked up until October. It will be wise to make a reservation before going up to the middle of the mountain. (We did saw people coming with no reservation and they were told it’s full.) However, there are 5-6 tents with mattress and pillow blanket provided, you can sleep there for 13e if the room are full, host is very understanding and will make it work for you. Dinner is 12e and breakfast is 5.

Beds were all taken when we arrived but you can also camp in the garden for 8€ or sleep in one of their tents for 13€.
There's a hammock in the garden and a lot of chickens that will try to get a bite of your food :)
Really nice showers and washing machine available for 5€

The albergue is in a beautiful country setting! Undoubtedly the most homely and personal welcome. The food was absolutely fantastic and undoubtedly the best I’ve experienced on the Camino Frances and the Del Norte !
Absolutely a must visit .
