Camino de Sant… (not verified)

Heidi and Ralf were super hosts. Lovely room and a beautiful garden. Plenty of cats and dogs to fuss. Dinner was excellent.

This place is a gem along the Camino. It's right off the path. You step through the gate into Heidi's garden which is peaceful and scenic. We arrived early enough to shower and sit around outside with a cup of tea while the cats and dog ran between us for attention. There were only 5 of us that night. Heidi and Rolf made dinner, and we got to sit around and talk. Dinner was wonderful, and they were able to accommodate dietary restrictions of one of the other pilgrims. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a quiet night. Make sure you walk to the back of the gargen to see the fields and enjoy the solitude. If you arrive before they open the gate there is an excellent bar across the path with outdoor seating and hammocks to lay in.

I was really excited to stay at this Albergue. The reviews are wonderful. But I have been ill and needed to take a day off so I could walk the last two days into Santiago. I messaged Heidi about spending time in the garden due to the early arrival by taxi and she cancelled my reservation. She made a reservation for me 2km down the road, but it really put me in a tailspin and my taxi driver got some tears 😅. They do not accept pilgrims that come by taxi. I wish that would have been publicized somewhere, as I was basically already there. I understand why now that I have see how to get there, the taxi literally had to drive on the Camino to get to the albergue, but how is anyone supposed to know that? Heidi seemed very kind, but I was really thrown off guard when it happened. I’m sure it would have been a very nice place to stay.

Heidi and Rolf are perfect hosts. We walked a 33km day to stay here and it was worth every step! They put so much love and attention into each pilgrim, and you can tell they pour their hearts and souls into each one. After nearly 1200km on various caminos, I can easily say that this is the BEST albergue I’ve ever stayed in. Dinner was amazing, the beds were comfy, shower warm, and company excellent. Skip Arzua and stay here!!

This was one of our best stops along the whole Camino del Norte. Heidi and her husband are wonderful hosts. The dinner they served us was fabulous. Very kind people. Highly recommend it.

This was one of my favorite albergues. The host and her husband were very nice. The rooms and showers are clean. You get real bed sheets and pillow cases and extra blankets if needed. Family style dinner was awesome. Don't miss Heidi soup it's out of this world. The rest of the dinner was great too and dessert was yummy. Relaxing garden with sweet cats and kitchen always open for teas and Cafe. I highly recommend thus place.
