Albergue Parroquial San Francisco de Asís

Tosantos

Description and Notice

All mattresses are on the floor, much like in Grañon. Friendly and spiritual hospitalero. Visits to nearby shrine (virgen de la peña) offered. A small prayer circle of sorts, and some singing, is usually part of the stay.

Camino de Sant… (not verified)

It completely enriched my view of the camino. I recommend this place!

Camino de Sant… (not verified)

Similar to donativo in Grañon. Sleeping on floor, communal dinner, etc. The reflective/prayer service was very impactful, even for me who is not religious. If you haven't "felt anything" on your camino yet, you may feel it after an evening in this albergue. Would recommend to anyone seeking a deeper experience than the social camino vibe, if only for one night.

Camino de Sant…

Tosantos is special. I’d say stay there for the experience and decide if you want to do it again. The host and hospitaleros were amazing. The town has no store or even a vending machine. Walked to the bar it was closed. Tried to find someone with a key to the church on the rocks and they said the key holder is too old to complete the hike so I cannot see this site. If you carry food to here make sure it’s ready to eat, you cannot use the kitchen. So we had to wait til 8pm for the communal meal which was AMAZING! But too long to wait for me.

Camino de Sant…

On the Camino it’s important to experience something different, I’ll never forget this place. Helping make dinner, sleeping on mats, singing, reflection in the small chapel all added to a rich experience that everyone should have.

Camino de Sant…

This albergue changed my camino and therefore maybe changed me.
There are not luxuries. One sleeps on mats on the floor in a common room. Pilgrims prepare the evening meal together in the kitchen with the hospitalero and then can attend a prayer meeting.
The meeting was what had the greatest impact. The hospitalero spoke to us about he Camino: solitude, silence and arriving at Santiago. If your goal on the Camino is to walk a spiritual path this place can help you. It reminded me why i chose to walk the way and empowered me to walk the rest in the spirit of the sacred.

Camino de Sant…

The albergue restored my faith in humanity. What an experience. Sleeping on the floor is difficult but so is the Camino. I had to pinch myself a number of times to remind myself that I was really here.

Camino de Sant…

They only cook meat food for everyone and have a passive-aggressive attitude if you don’t join them in the 1 hour (!!) prayer.
