Camino de Sant… (not verified)

Stay here!!! Much nicer than Tio Pepe where we stayed last time. Clean, friendly, good vegetarian paella for dinner. Private room sans bath for 30€.

Dorm was one big room but it wasn’t crowded (and a bit cheaper than usual)

Food was fantastic. The only four course menu I have had ;) salad, soup, vegetarian paella, crepes d for desserts. Delicious and a bargain for €12. People were taking away leftovers for tomorrow.

Hospitlero very friendly and helpful: fixed someone’s bike, arranged a taxi for someone who didn’t speak Spanish

I stayed here last night (as the only pilgrim) after walking from Mansilla de las Mulas. I’d planned to stay in León but the weather was so good I walked on and arrived after dark.
Anna, the Hospitalera, was so welcoming and cooked me a delicious dinner while I showered and then served it in the cozy dining room with log burner lit. Even though I was the only person staying Anna chatted away to keep me company and then gave me a big hug before I went to bed.
One tip, there was no breakfast offered and none of the bars had opened by 8am, so it was a 15km walk to Hospital de Orbigo before I found a cafe open (maybe pack a banana or some biscuits to keep you going ‘til then…if you’re walking out of season).

I stayed here as the only pilgrim at all (start November), which at first seemed weird, but because of the hosts being so nice it was actually super fine. The hostess cooked me a delicious 3 course vegetarian menu for 12EUR, which I enjoyed in their cozy living room with the fire on.
Beds a bit old, and not the best, but the place is fine!

Nice place, delicious vegan meal! Stayed here at october 25th.

When we arrived, we were the youngest people here. The next oldest was, I think, 49 and too young for the crowd. The food was good, but considering there is no bar and they are serving whole vegetarian burgers next door, also not special.

The other two albergues are more suited to a drink after the day’s walk, but this is not the worst stay on the Camino.

A great case of "don't judge a book by its cover." This place is easy to judge on its initial offerings. Quiet town, old beds, not many outlets. But the meal we had for dinner was the best on the Camino so far. I would come back just for that. What we had was all vegetarian, very fresh, and was the perfect thing before walking 20 miles to Astorga the next day. Do yourself a favor, take the scenic route (which I would identify more as the quiet route compared to the noisy road route down the N-120) and stop into this albergue. You won't regret it.

Our hosts were wonderful. The place was very clean. The dinner was delicious but the beds are very old. We did not sleep well. Perhaps they will replace them soon.

Camino de Sant…

Hosts were gracious and the meal was one of the best I’ve had so far. The price of the double did go up from what is listed on Wise Pilgrim but it was worth it! 50 for a double.

Camino de Sant…

Not the best. I’d suggest staying at the casa de Jesus for €7. San Antonio de Padua is €10 for a bed and the bunks are all in one large room. Most of the bunks are pushed right together so you’ll be sleeping side by side. Good for couples I suppose. Bed comes with a blanket.
WiFi is about 1Mbps, very slow,
Dinner was nicely presented, but I’ve had better. It was salad, soup, paella, a crepe for €11, no options.
