I had a lot of reservations before staying here based on everyone’s comments. But staying here really dispelled a lot of the negative views people have had coming here - this is the original albergue that was established by the hermit Gaulcelmo because pilgrims before had no place to stay . Sure there are fewer toilets and bathrooms but they re clean and work well.the beds ImO are better than most albergues that I pay more and shake everytime someone breaths. They provide breakfast even when it’s donativo. The people who run this place runs it with the best intentions even when they don’t have to. I ll stay here again because the people who run this albergue run it with the spirit of the Camino as their predecessor has done before. Lovely host thank you again.

The bathroom door didn’t lock and when I mentioned it to the volunteer, he just shrugged

Room had far too many beds, we were tripping all over each other. Wake up call at 6am and WiFi (not a bad thing for me but could be a problem for others). Compared to other donativos, the breakfast was not substantial at all

The host asked us for our donation upon checkin in front of all pilgrims.
He locked the kitchen
The accommodation room had too many beds, no bags as there was not room, the beds squeakiest on the Camino and no windows.
Worst albergue on Camino - avoid if you can

Camino de Sant… (not verified)

The albergue is open until 31/12. Nice and small with communal meal and breakfast (donativo). Very nice hosts. Heater in the communal room.

Camino de Sant…

Had a nice evening just nine pilgrims and the volunteer hospitalero. Beds were comfy and Hester was put on before bed to help warm the room up.

Camino de Sant…

Simple albergue, lots of bunk beds in the dormitory with mats in the adjoining room for any extra pilgrims. Showers were quite temperamental but Pepe was very welcoming and made a delicious dinner for us all.

Camino de Sant…

This was an experience of the real Camino, communal meal, lot of people helped making the food.
Space was scarce but the heart of the hospitalero was big and warm. He joked a lot in italien and spanish, the ones who didn’t understand he help by using other pilgrims to translate - so everyone felt connected.
