Small shop inside the albergue. The village is quite small, only 40 people. Three of the families make their living producing Queixo de Cebreiro, which can be sampled at the bar in the albergue.

PLEASE add this lovely hotel with private rooms to your list. The food was great, the bed was so very comfortable, the hot water and shower were great, the people were so nice they pressed fruit on us as we ventured forth in the morning. This was a good stop.

Our hosts were so welcoming. After our walk from Las Herrerias it was great to have a refreshments in the bar with a wood burner. Definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay here. It’s beautiful. Clean, comfortable, modern. Beautiful views. Great food, WiFi and laundry machines.
We don’t want to leave!

Opened last year by a local woman. Clean, modern with delicious food and big portions. One of the nicest places we stayed on the Camino.

Camino de Sant…

I stayed at Casa Nuñez which is a fantastic place I highly recommend.

Camino de Sant…

20220502 bought fresh cheese at cheese store. I swear close to 2 pounds for 8 euro. Make a lunch, dinner, dessert with honey. Breakfast on toast. Share with friends. It is soooo delish!

Fonfria is currently having all of the roads worked on and re-done, so access to the town is very limited and mostly only open to residents.
At the entrance to the town you must detour left and walk along the road, then re-join the Camino after the town on the right hand side.
