I did not get a specific reason why, but they are not here Today. Make sure to call them ahead if you plan to stay here in March.

After a 2C / 50km wind kinda day, I fell into this place. The lovely man brought soup, tea & a kind smile. I felt lucky to be alive.

The albergue is as you would expect. We made good use of the fire and got clothes dry.

That lovely man will answer any question & ensure you have what you need. He’s very lovely.

Stayed here about a week ago and it was heaven. The place was fully heated (upstairs and downstairs) all through the night and in the morning too. The Hospitalero (Andrés) keeps a pellet-fed burner going and also uses gas heaters too.
You get a cleanly-laundered bottom sheet and pillow case and warm blankets too.
Dinner was delicious and ample (mixed salad with both boiled eggs and tuna, as well as salad ingredients; lentejas with chorizo; fruit yogurt with real pieces of fruit; fresh bread; water and wine) and breakfast was full continental (toast, jam, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, cheese and ham, coffee, choice of teas and juice).
The Albergue is open all year but it’s advisable to call in advance in winter to reserve a bed. Because Andrés does everything himself he explained to me that if he has no bookings he may close the Albergue to take a day’s rest, so best to advise him if you’re coming. If he has reservations he’ll definitely be open.
The day after I stayed I met another pilgrim who told me Andrés has cycled after their group on the morning they left, to give them some clothes they had left behind. A Hospitalero with a big heart.

Contrary to the rest of the comments on this Albergue, I really liked it. The place is newly renovated and really beautifully done. The bunk beds are constructed of wood, and makes them leas creaky as well as creating a more private feeling. Food was great - I asked for vegetarian and it was no problem (got lentils and tofu which was the first time I had real protein on the Camino as an egg-less vegetarian). Very sweet!

Camino de Sant…

Not a place to stay during a winter Camino. The main room does not have heat and we were housed across the street in the overflow room. Supper was expensive and less than adequate.

Camino de Sant…

Stayed there on Sept 17 2020.12€ for bunk bed ( old, noisy.) and 9€ for dinner (which was alright).
Supermercado open from 16.30-18.30 only and it is hidden (go through El Puntido). Very empty city.

Camino de Sant…

An ok place a little old but that adds character. Communal meal was ok but great to mix with fellow pilgrims. Open September 2020

Camino de Sant…

There is a new pellet stove in the dining room that also heats radiators in the dormitories. March 1, 2022
