I agree with the other reviews. The rooms were lovely and the hostal had great potential but the owners were extremely rude and unhelpful.. We had a situation where a fellow pilgrim passed out in the courtyard and when I asked the owner for help she just pointed at me and said 112. I ended up calling 112 and an ambulance arrived and took the poor guy away (we saw him the next day fully recovered so all good there) but at no time did the owner come and check on the welfare of one of her patrons. Definitely don’t stay here is you have another option.

this would be a great place if run by different owners. The hotel was clean rooms big. The owner and I’m guessing wife were extremely rude and unhelpful. We later talked to several pilgrims who all had the same experience. So if you can please don’t support this hostel.

Our room at this Hostal was basic, clean, and comfortable. The host was competent, but not welcoming or helpful. Talked to other pilgrims staying there who had the same impressions.

Camino de Sant…

We had a comfortable private room, a luxury on the Camino, but it was just right at the end of the first stage over the Napoleon route in high winds and snow. Dinner and breakfast served, for additional fees. Again, worth it for locally sourced food and a relaxing experience. Hemingway stayed here a century ago, and they’re still very proud of the association. Note that all meals do include meat.
