High up on the hillside on the south side of town is the 17th century Iglesia de San Vicente de la Maza; unfortunately its remote location in the hillside forest means that there is seldom someone available to unlock the doors.

The Road

After Rioseco, the camino continues to the first roundabout and turns right to cross the river and enter the small hamlet of La Magdalena.

Camino de Sant… (not verified)

The church Iglesia de san Vincente is worth the visit.
Very beautiful and old from the outside and looks abondoned. But very interesting.

At the far end of Riosecco the marked trail turned left even though the blue dots on the app continued straight. I continued on the blue dots to La Magdalena where the marked trail turned left even though the blue dots contained straight. I decided to follow the marked trail at that point and it did lead me over the mountain pass. When I finished the descent I was right where I should have been on the blue dots. The way from Riosecco likely joins this same forest trail and would have saved me time.

From Rioseco there are signs leading you off the N364 sooner and crossing through the forest via Tresagua and Lugarejos, coming back to the blue dotted line after La Magdalena.
I think km wise it's similar to the route here and you still have the climb, but you're off the main road.

We stayed here 5th August 2022, there was 3 of us and we couldn't have been better looked after. Mar was so lovely and accommodating to us, as we're the locals at the bar. One of our most favorite places to stay so far on the Camino del Norte.

I stayed in Posada de Valle De Guriezo which is a nice old house with lots of character, but beside a busy road. I found service from the proprietress lacking though. Small bar downstairs but locals look at you like you’re an alien visitor. No dinner, so your options are go to a restaurant 2km away or the grocery store across the road. However the kitchen is not for guest use and is locked, so you’re really limited with what you can eat!
