Camino de Sant… (not verified)

I walked the Camino Portuguese and never had an issue until I stayed here. I was bitten so badly with bedbugs. Had to change rooms at 1am as I was bitten so bad, however couldn't stop itching in the next room as well

It is across the street from the cathedral in a spectacular old building. I’m in a pilgrim room for 25€ per night which includes breakfast. As others had warned, it is quite spartan, but I have my own bathroom which is a treat. They have other rooms if you have the taste and budget for a little more luxury. I highly recommend.

This was a great ending to our camino. We had a double room on the top floor. Weather wasn't too bad, and the room was comfortable. You can check in your bags early and leave them after checkout safely. Breakfast was included. Just around the corner from the cathedral. Highly recommend staying here!

Much is made of the rooms on the top floor that are rented to pilgrims at a reduced rate (25€/night in 2022) and must be reserved by e-mail well in advance. Don’t bother. As at least one other person here has mentioned, they are tiny, amenity-free, and uncomfortable. The narrow windows open (barely) onto a roof covered with bird droppings and if the temperature outside is even slightly warm the room is almost unbearably stuffy. The bed is a thin, army-cot affair with scratchy, low quality sheets - hardly the kind of bed you want to treat yourself to after long days on the Camino. There is only one electrical outlet and of course it’s nowhere near the bed. Nor was there a reading or bedside lamp in the room I was assigned. (There were, however, graffiti and peeled-off junk stickers on the two meager shelves bolted to the walls in lieu of a proper place to store belongings and clothes.) Probably the biggest disappointment of my Camino. Don’t make the same mistake - pay a little more and stay somewhere more comfortable. You deserve it!

Prices now through the roof!!!

Camino de Sant…

If you were lucky enough to stay here, you are lucky! Call and make a reservation and plenty of time. Perfect place to end your Camino. You will not get a better breakfast, close to the cathedral, and the price hasn’t changed in years.

Camino de Sant…

If you want to stay in a tiny cell-like room, unheated and freezing for most of the day even in cold November and with beddings that same of old… please book here. I understand the pleasure of staying in a grandiose old building, but still… for that same price you get comfy rooms in nearby hotels also in old buildings. I hope regular renovated rooms are worth their price (48 for single) because pilgrim rooms are not!!!

Camino de Sant…

Stayed again recently, rooms are always a nice place to relax away from the busy Santiago streets. Room was missing a desk this time which would have been nice to have. Location is unbeatable, close to the Cathedral and Obradoiro square.
