Camino de Sant… (not verified)

Super clean with huge Indian dinner. So many different dishes to try. No alcohol included but available as a supplement. FWIW the wine is sold at cost and is a whole lot better than the typical “free“ included wine. Bottle is 7Euro. The food is NOT spicy. Great hosts. Recommended

We stayed a Friday night in September of 2022. There are 4 restaurants in town, only one was open that night. The only grocery store in town closes at 7 pm. Upon arrival at our chambre d’hote that afternoon, the hostess greeted us warmly and we chatted for about 45 minutes. She never mentioned the food situation in Auvillar. Her husband came home around 6:50 that evening and told us the only restaurant in town only took reservations, were full, and the grocery closed in 10 minutes. We rushed there and grabbed an expensive, stale, premade sandwich and ate on a bench. We found out from other pilgrims further down the GR65 that they had similar experiences in Auvillar on other days too. It’s a great little town but we left hungry and disappointed!

Gîte on the GR65 next to a boulangerie. Really nice, clean gîte with lovely hosts offering Indian food. Pilgrim rooms are on the top level, with a lounge area to relax in and free wifi. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend this Gite. Laurence goes above and beyond. She has an incredible gift of hospitality and sincerely enjoys her guests. The Gite is beyond words, spotless and gorgeous. Inside walk is from the 12th century. The WiFi is great, the food amazing and sheets and towels...can’t say enough about this place. If you need a place to stay THIS IS IT!!!

What a great gite. Very clean, and modern. The friendliest hosts that enjoy a conversation. The food was Indian and she respects any additional conditions like veggie/vegan or intolerances/allergies. The food was very very good.
For everyone interested in the Indian culture it is a great place.
