Camino de Sant… (not verified)

As of June 20,2023 there is no microwave and no way to cook. We filled our water bottles at the bar as I’m unsure if the water is good. It is crowded and we were treated to surround sound of snores all night long. On the flip side, it is close to the hospitales and inexpensive.

Showers were nice and warm. There really is not a place to hang out. I’d recommend planning to spend your afternoon at the wonderful bar you have to go to to register. It’s beautifully redone and the owner is great. If you need coffee to tackle the hospitales in the morning there is a vending machine in a shed on the path up the mountain.

We stayed here on 23 June 2023. The Albergue is clean and they do provide blankets. There is a kitchen with a stove top and microwave and vending machines for hot and cold drinks and snacks. There are only 10 spaces but you can ring or email for a reservation. The beds are arranged as five bunks in one room but it is not too crowded. Each bed has a secure locker, reading lamp and power point. For 15 Euro this is pretty good value on the Primitivo.

Camino de Sant… (not verified)

All the bunks are in one room. There are 2 showers combined with the toilet. Just a microwave for the kitchen but you get a menu at the bar for 10euro and they can make you a sandwich for the next day for 4 euro.

When you arrive in town, walk past the hill to the Albergue, go into town, to the bar(there is only one bar) you are recorded as staying there. Then follow the road back to the Albergue.
The Albergue is 24 beds only, then that is full there are no other options for many kilometres. Either book ahead for the other Albergue or get here early. It is full by 3pm.
There are two bathrooms with a toilet and shower, you are sleeping on old bunks with only a few blankets provided.
The Bar had a great lunch and dinner but is not open for breakfast. This is the last stop on the Hospitalise route so make sure you bring enough food with you.

Camino de Sant…

Closed for renovation as of 19 may 2022

Camino de Sant…

There’s a great small but brand new albergue called Albergue La Montera. It’s located near the bar and you can find it on google maps.

Camino de Sant…

Very basic albergue, showers were not really clean. But for the price it was fair. The microwave is not working.

Camino de Sant…

LA MONTERA is a very dirty place. There is one toilette and one shower only. Cleanliness does not exist however the place is nice. The owners are nice but very stingy. There are no blankets !!! There is no breakfast and 12 euros for just sleeping is expensive.

Camino de Sant…

The bar where you get the key for the Albergue was having building work done so it was not clear where the key could be attained.

Camino de Sant…

Do not let the caretaker of the municipal albuergue fool you by her curt manner. She’s a sweetheart and took such great care of us. I feel welcomed and cared for this night on our Camino. —Jan 2022
