Notice

The stage between Castilblanco de los Arroyos and Almaden de la Plata is a very challenging and long day. There are zero places along the way to refill your water so be sure to carry extra with you along this stretch of nearly 30km.

The Road

The way out of Castilblanco de los Arroyos is along a path immediately adjacent to the road for the next 15km. It leaves the road at the entrance to a gated farm.

Meson La Colina is the first place you come to where you can get a coffee, cold drink and meal after hanging walked from Guillena. It is at the entrance of Castille Blanco. They serve a menu de día for pilgrims until 4PM.

Hotel Castille Blanco was at the entrance to the village. Very clean, friendly hosts. Rooms have air conditioning. Helped us arrange a taxi to the Entrance of Berrocal, leaving approx 14 km to walk in the heat (36C).

Camino de Sant…

At Hotel Castillo BLANCO breakfast is from 8:00 a.m., which is a bit late, since you have 30 km to walk when leaving Castilblanco de los Arroyos.

Camino de Sant…

Across the street from the albergue, the bar-restaurant withe the Coca-Cola sign, two doors up from the corner, served the worst, skimpiest meal I’ve eaten in Spain. Soup must have come out of a can, omelette the size of my palm (no side dish), flan in a plastic cup right off the shelf of the grocery. Avoid.
