The two bars in town are at the far end, near the main plaza/fronton court.

History

King García Ramírez, the grandson of El Cid, died here in November of 1150. The first guidebook to the camino tells that the waters here were poisonous to horses, in fact so too was the water in every stream between here and Estella and a few more beyond. It was propaganda at its finest, and the waters are perfectly safe.

The cafe, on the plaza entering town, had a long line. While the coffee was good and the orange juice freshly squeezed, I would next time walk on to one of the bars at the 2 albergues further through town. In these pueblos, that’s just 5 more minutes of walking.

This is the 2nd day in a row where all the albergues have been booked completely full.

I arrived in Pamplona yesterday afternoon, only to find out every bed was taken in every. single. Albergue. Had to drop 120 bucks on a hotel. This was after a 25 mile walk from Aurizberri.

Today I walked another 25 miles only to find out every albergue in the 8 mile radius of me is booked full.

I gotta say, I am not having a good time on the Camino. It seems if you want a place to stay you gotta book ahead, otherwise you’re gonna break your bank.

Worse comes to worse I’m gonna sleep on a bench. Buen Camino…

On entering the Albergue we were welcomed! Have had a fabulous meal cooked by Jose, with a super group of people from around the world. I will definitely be back!!

If you want the lentil soup from June to august José Ramón says just call ahead. Give him 1.5 hours and he will make it for you. One of the nicest persons we have met on the trip

Whatever you do, give yourself a treat, Casa Nahia is a gem of a place to kay your weary bones after the climbs fom Murtazibal and Lorca. This place is quite simple stunning.
More on oar with 4 star hotel at home this beautifully designed place is somthing else. State of the art kitchen fully equipped with superb quality items, bathroom with rain fall shower head and air conditioning to make sure you have tbe perfect temperature to aid your sleep in quality sheets and super comfy beds. The cost is a little more than you would pay for most accommodation on the Camino,£32 per person based on two sharing but the breakfast will give you so much energy and plenty to pack in your bag for later. The wrap around balcony gives wonderful views, by pass at your own loss.

What a treat (retreat)Casa Nahia is. I broke my long day into two shorter days to stay here. It’s is a modern, stylish place of calm. Welcoming helpful people. Well organised. Affordable. Do yourself a favour if you can. Delightful.

Recommend stopping for lunch at Albuerge Lorca - hopping with pilgrims near noon. My husband and I ordered lentil soup and they brought out a large tureen of soup, two bowls, and a bread basket for 10 euros. We finished it all, about 3 bowls each. Light broth with lentils, peppers, garlic cloves, zucchini, carrots, potatoes - perfect lunch and nice to get some veggies. They also had several varieties of tortilla, bocadillos, fresh squeezed OJ, salad, sodas, beer. They had ice for our soda, and it was a generous amount! The toilet was very clean too.
