This alternative route is away from the main road but is long flat straight and a bit boring?! I had a welcome break here. Breakfast, fresh orange juice and a friendly smile from everyone I met.

There was literally nothing open in this town, not a single person there. At least there’s a water tap with drinking water.

There is food service and a bar here. Excellent facilities. Very clean.

I just passed through at 12 noon and there was nothing open. The fountain is flowing happily though.

Camino de Sant…

As recommended unless you are very agile I would walk over the railway bridge and turning left. There is no formal crossing here so you have to climb a stone embankment look for trains and walk swiftly across and down again. The Spanish ATV trains cover 1k in 11 seconds! I walked across but after I saw a train go by I would have walked around. So don’t stop to take a photo! You have been warned.

After stopping to rest on the fountain steps I turned the corner and as lovely little bakery was open selling treats and colas!
