Espinosa has seen better days. Even with centuries of passing pilgrims it struggles to stay on the map. In recent years, a few buildings have been rehabilitated into an albergue and a bar.

Camino de Sant…

Lovely stopover in this tiny town of 42 residents. The hosts weee friendly, the alburgue clean and neat and the food was great. Recommended.

A very clean alburgue with a really good dinner for 12 euros. Our room 5 bunks and was a liitle cramped but the pilgrims in our room worked it out. 2 showers and 2 toilets for 10 people worked out fine. The small quiet town was a great stop for us before sending a couple of days in Burgos. My wife and I would stay there again.

Sabine and Ulrich used to run the albergue Das Animas in Ambasmestas and I’m very glad they’ve continued to be of service on the Camino in Espinosa del Camino. To stay with them is an absolute treat.

I walked through this village at 11am and the bar of La Taberna was open for drinks and snacks.

What a gem! This small Albuerge is run by a German couple who have equipped it nicely with the pilgrim in mind. They greet you with a drink (warm herbal tea in the rain!) and assisted getting things hung to dry. There was even a shoe dryer. There are 4 single beds in the room, each with its own locker large enough to hold your backpack, a socket, individual bed lamps, a shelf, and all bed linens and towels were included. Wi-Fi quality was good. Washer and dryer are available for a fee. The meals were outstanding and beautifully presented - homemade vegetable soup followed by a lovely pasta carbonara and a trifle dessert beautifully plated. Breakfast with homemade breads, yogurt, jams, a warm soft boiled egg in a nice egg cup, hams and cheese. The care taken to make the guests feel at home and taken care of was truly exceptional - it truly was like being asked into someone’s home and being treated as special guests. It was such a nice welcome for a couple muddy, wet, and cold pilgrims.

Nice place to have an espresso.

Another option! Decent 6-bed rooms (3 bunks) upstairs, clean bathrooms, cooking facilities, laundry facilities, and dinner/ breakfast available for an extra fee. As we left we saw pilgrims coming in from elsewhere for breakfast.
