One of the best experience, nuns and evening with songs, blessing and mass so special and emotional.
With all the best feelings, highly recommended!
We were a bit disappointed to find all the nuns have retired or that's what the hospitalero said. We sang one song which we didn't know. Pilgrim mass was really nice and communal dinner fun. Only 1 shower upstairs for so many people. Also I kept knocking it as I washed and it would turn water heat up so I scalded myself. Be careful there. Carrion de los condes has heaps of shops compared to other towns nearby nice bars supermarkets. Pilgrims shop etc
Apparently the nuns have retired, which was a bit dissapointing. We sang the Ultreia song with the hospitaleros. Still the communal dinner was really nice, not too heavy, but Kate at 8 30 pm. You bring an item for them to cook. We were told to bring tomatoes. Lots of fun at dinner after a beautiful pilgrims mass where we all got the gift of a, star to light our way to Santiago. Oh and the priest blessed us all each individually. Nice, good bread shop opposite albergue.
Overall a nice place to stay. The sing along with the nuns was lovely. Rooms a bit crowded and hot, power points only in some places. Bathrooms are clean, kitchen is fairly large, nice patio. They say you can’t leave until 6am but will test this tomorrow.
Nice place, good spirit. But many young people, and very noisy.
Yes you do get tea and crackers on arrival but this place has beautiful spirit, the trainee nuns are so friendly and welcoming, vespers, sing a long and a blessing at the pilgrim Mass made this the most special place to stay on the Camino. By the way showers are hot, beds comfy and all for 5EU.
From the moment my friend and I walked in I loved the spirit of this albergue. Many places offer a quick egreeting and get down to business (which is fine!) But here, the first priority is a kind greeting, followed by a cup of tea and crackers. The room is crowded but not unpleasantly so. The shower was hot. There was a large, tranquil courtyard. Best of all were a voluntary sharing time where the staff offered everyone a chance to talk about their Camino, and a rousing communal dinner that included songs and laughter. Amazing experience! -A
A nice place, but I and a few of my friends got locked out. The albergue closes at 9:30pm, but they decided to close at 9:20pm when we stayed there. You have been warned
One of the best albergues on the hole camino. Crackers and tee once you got there.. Very popular. I loved the place so so much!!!!
