Small store. The albergue also offers private rooms in the nearby Hostal San Andrés.
These distances are exact, but are based on a straight line from point to point. Actual walking distances will be slightly longer.
The town is all run by the same family or at least it seems like it. The prices are high and the only option for dinner is expensive and lacking. On a positive note, the facilities are clean and comfortable. Also, the pool appears to be a sham, it’s always closed.
Spent one night here and it was okay. Not to clean and the host didn’t act very positive. But you can buy some food in their small store and coffee from a machine. There is two restaurants in the small village so you can have dinner and breakfast.
The WiFi is free but you have to ask about it and also the password.
But having said that, at least they tried to give you value for money. Dorms a bit crowded, three showers and two toilets on our floor which had more than 20 people, but the pilgrim meal was good value for money. The only bar and tiny shop in town as well, breakfast there a Euro more than normal.
Cost was 10 euros for a bed. Clean bathrooms. Had a nice dinner down the way from the albergue. Th grocery inside the albergue was great for stocking up on supplies before heading out.
The magical El Ramon. Mis his peculiarities, unique open air outdoor Lou, with flies glued to you for the banquette! Just humour! He was unique. May God bless him where ever he might be.
Clean with well stocked food items. Nice showers. Hospitalara very helpful. I was very pleased.
The advertised pool is not at Casa Mariela, nor is it free. The wifi is free, but is just so-so, as if after all that time running this albergue the owners didn't know, or didn't want to know, they need to pay for a better quality for their daily customers, nowadays accustomed to being able to work and talk after the daily walk (yes, unplug whoever may, but not all have that luxury). Also, there are not enough bathrooms provided. My floor has 21 guests, one shower, and one toilet. Just waiting for the morning rush to that single toilet!
