I decided to treat myself to a private room here because I’m a light sleeper and needed to recoup some rest after the snorathon that is dormitory life. Alas, the walls were so thin I could here the guys in the next room snoring. Also tried to no avail avoiding the multiple bed springs which were trying to impale me. When I ask at the desk for my key, I was told there were no keys- accompanied by a look that said, pilgrims don’t steal, get some Camino spirit! When I asked for a blanket (it was real cold) I notice that the store room was secured like a bank vault. Think they were just saving on the costs of locks. They also saved on the cost of toilets, there was o my one for the boys and one for the girls. There was some security though, as the man reassured me we would all be locked in at night- luckily there was no fire, and I’m not claustrophobic.

We stayed at the Nido de Cigüeña which is on the way out of town. No meals are offered but it is well equipped for you to prepare your own quick meals. There are plenty of restaurants, grocery shops and pharmacy near by. We loved the clean room, private bathroom and abundance of hot water for a shower! Loved the ambiance and the professionalism of the host. Highly recommend.
