From here the climb is steady to the Alto de Perdón. If you have watched Martin Sheen’s “The Way” you may recognize the front of the Iglesia de San Andres as the setting for one of the movie’s earlier scenes.

I stopped here for orange juice and a coffee on my way up from Pamplona. The shop is well stocked and the people friendly and helpful, especially if you use your manners and are friendly in return ...which I noticed many pilgrims were not. :(

Walking from Pamplona felt all up hill so a few of us stayed at a spot not mentioned in the app. Cute town, friendly town and place.

Hours on Tienda 7:30 - 2:30 every day… hours to shift later in September. Not sure of bar hours.

Camino de Sant…

We passed through on 22 Mar 2022, both albergues and shops closed, no one answered phone numbers. We kept walking to Uterga.

Camino de Sant…

When I was walking through around 10 or 11 in the morning, there was a place open for food and a sign out for the albergue, so I think it might be open. I’m not sure though because I didn’t stop in town. You may want to call first if you’re hoping to stay here—just to be sure.

Camino de Sant…

Two water fountains right as you enter town.

Camino de Sant…

There is a portal op on the way into town, and a good little shop with drinks, food and ice cream.

Camino de Sant…

Just past the Iglesia San Andres (stop for a stamp and a look) is a little market with fresh bread, croissants, lunch meat, fruit and meat pies. There is also a vending machine with cold drinks, and snacks.

Camino de Sant…

Both are still closed on 7th April 2022. I should have stopped in Pamplona!
