Camino de Sant… (not verified)

Helena was a wonderful host. We thought we found the place when it turned out we had not. She called to confirm where we were and then picked us up by car. It’s like we fell in to a box of chocolates. Helena welcomed us with open arms, cooked a delicious meal of beef, salad, potatoes, fresh bread and wine followed by a freshly baked orange cake. We were able to do laundry and rest in the hammock. The kitchen is stocked to prepare a picnic for the next day. Where you reconnect with the Camino is closer to Casa de Azzancha then going back to the Main Street. We absolutely felt like we were at home. Definitely recommend.

Camino de Sant…

Camino de Sant…

Helena is a great host, her dinner is fabulous and she makes you feel at home as soon as you enter. Internet is available.

Camino de Sant…

Nice accommodation. Private room and bathroom available. Includes breakfast. Comparatively expensive for pilgrims. $55.00 euro for 2. Also available is shared dorm style beds-$25.00 euro per person. Beer/wine soft drinks available for $1-2 euro.
Elena is very welcoming and helpful.

Camino de Sant…

Helena greeted us with a “take your shoes off and put those on”, not a very warm welcome after having walked 27 kms in the heat, tired and sore feet. The accommodation was clean but basic. Having been followed by a dog, we were scolded for encouraging it to follow us, which was far from the truth. We did not want to let the dog into the property, she insisted it come inside, gave it food and drink, then expected us to take it the next day, 7 kms along a very busy and dangerous stretch of the road to Golega, to drop it off at the animal shelter without a collar, lead or anything to lead it along the road. When we didn’t do this, having left her money for petrol so she could take the dog in the car, she posted a response to say we were dangerous pilgrims and to watch out for us! We had no idea where this shelter was, we were concerned for the dog and driver’s safety, which is why we didn’t take the dog. I would not recommend this establishment.

Camino de Sant…

Elena is the lovliest host who made us feel at home. I recommend this place for a night on the camino.

Camino de Sant…

Walked in 39c and this oasis came at just the right time.
10 out of 10 for everything.

Camino de Sant…

Just private room for 40 Euros!!! No thanks.

Camino de Sant…

I love Helena and her delightful sweet family, as soon as I arrived she welcomed me like I was family. She showed me to my room which was wonderful to all other places I had stayed so far. I put down my pack and she invited me to the most wonderful meal with her large family who all tried to speak English with me and included me every step of the meal. It was a delicious roast, mashed potatoes, salad, wine. Desert was an orange roll cake with fresh sliced strawberries and tutti-frutti gelato and crème. I will remember this stop forever as one of my favorite stops along this Camino.

Camino de Sant…

The guest house felt very at home. It was Sunday and Helena made us dinner, and gave us cake she made for her birthday :) Welcome retreat after a long day. Highly recommend
