Camino de Sant… (not verified)

I absolutely loved my stay at Albergue Lamas with our hosts Anna and Miguel, found on the alternative mountain route as you leave Villafranca. The warmth and care that Anna and Miguel showed to everyone who stayed there, or who stopped by, was felt by all. My friends and I who stayed there loved the food and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere as we all sat around the kitchen while Anna made our delicious homemade dinner which included fresh vegetables from their garden. While we were there Miguel even took the time to show us on some maps and mark them so that we could find a local cave up in the mountains as a side excursion. This was definitely one of my most favorite Albergues on the Camino. I highly recommend staying here!!

I stayed here last night and had a wonderful time. One of the best albergues on the entire Camino! It was so peaceful and quiet and the hosts are lovely, cooking everything with ingredients from their own garden. The accommodation was lovely too - I had a private room and for 35 euros it was gorgeous!!! 100% recommend staying here, out of the hustle and bustle of the main camino it is a delight!

Camino de Sant…

I decided to take the challenge and climb high above Villafranca to Pradela. It was a challenging hike, but the views are breathtaking. I am staying here at Albergue Lamas and it is very nice. She offers bunks made up with clean sheets for 8€, or mattresses only for 6€. It is a little family run business and she has a great meal served at 7pm. Break away from the rat race and come visit! Great WiFi as well. Very clean.

Camino de Sant…

The Albergue/Bar is fantastic. The owners were so sweet and kind. If you take the green route you are in for some excellent views and seclusion. No other pilgrims took this route when we were there. It is a climb, but it you are rewarded with views for basically this whole section. It is worth it. It was hot for us, so we went to Pradela for some water and rest. The owners were so unbelievably kind. They were in the middle of their own lunch and they put it totally aside to help us. We stumbled in overheated, exhausted, and in need of water. The prices were good and the food was amazing! We had a goat cheese salad and cheesecake. The owners make their own chestnut syrup using the trees nearby. They drizzle this syrup all over the cheesecake and it is perfect. The salad was huge and very good. While we waited they let us fill our bottles from the kitchen sink repeatedly. We ordered lemonade and the owner made us a gigantic and delicious pitcher. After we ate the owner insisted on calling to make a reservation for us in Trabadelo, where we planned to stay. She also gave us to mini shots of their homemade chestnut liquor. I have never had anything like it. It was delicious. it was sort of like a sweeter syrupy whiskey, but with an amazing flavor. My husband does not like whiskey and he still loved it. If we had stayed overnight we would have ordered a few drinks of this. They were so generous and kind to us. This little gem is worth the detour off trail. The owners were just so kind and the food and experience we had for lunch was great!

Camino de Sant…

This place is wonderful! I admittedly only stopped in for a break but ended up spending a lot of time. The owners are incredibly friendly and have a puppy as an added bonus. The view is lovely, the food is delicious and affordable. I wish I had stayed the night!

Camino de Sant…

I can agree with all that the previous reviewers have said. This is a really lovely spot - and I encourage you to spend a night here. It is only a tiny detour once on the mountain route and you experience a small community quite different to the busy pueblos along the main route. The beds are comfy and clean, there are friendly dogs, and the couple who run this albergue are just delightful. Strongly recommended.

Camino de Sant…

The couple that runs this Albergue are just charming and very helpful. They make the bed and provide you with blankets and will preheat the bedroom if it is chilly outside. The Wi-Fi was surprisingly given the remoteness of the location blazing fast. I cannot say enough about the food as it was all superb and homegrown. It was a chilly late afternoon before I arrived and the lady immediately offered me a glass of red wine. The dinner was outstanding and the breakfast homemade to order. And if you have it in you to make the climb it is well worth the effort for the views and the hospitality.
