Vigo is the largest city in Galicia, and the largest you will have seen since Porto. It is spread out across a large hillside and can divided into an upper and lower half (Alto and Bajo). The marked camino trail keeps strictly to the upper half. The way through the park is pleasant, and for a distance after you follow along the river. A series of bridge crossings, and pedestrian crossings, take you over the river and eventually across the massive A55 divided highway. Once on the other side of the A55 you continue uphill, turning left to follow a paved path around the Parque de San Roque which stands to your left. Opposite its entrance turn right.
Parking spaces are a premium here, and Spaniards are fond of parking on the stripes, making for a bit of a challenge to find your way. Thankfully they have painted arrows high up on the light poles.
A few more crossings and soon you'll be on the Ruá de Urzáiz, Upper Vigo's pedestrian shopping street.
