I arrived here October 2023. The monk who checked us in was most unhelpful. The albergue was filthy. Some of the bunks had sheets on which were dirty. They had blood on them ? bed bugs. It was cold however the blankets provided were dirty. There were rat catchers on the floor. I paid my donation on checking in and decided to leave after one hour. Best decision.

Very basic albergue, no kitchen no washimg machines. And you are not inside the monasterio. I suggest stay in other albergues and do the monasterio tour instead

Old is fine , not clean and smells is not ok . The showers were mouldy and old bottle and rubbish in the stall . The beds have no sheets supplied and needed a good wipe down . Pilgrims plaster bandages stuck on the bunk , blankets old and smelly. As Pilgrims we try to support the donation Albergues, donating what we would for a private Albergue, but this was not a good experience. Place needs a good clean and TLC .

The donativo albergue is very run down. First time during the whole Camino that I'm slightly disgusted by the place. Has a microwave. No bed covers. Beds are a mix of plastic covered ones and plain polyester mattresses. No clothes line outside. Showers are clean but the whole place looks like a half-abandoned hospital. The town has little in terms of choice so I would skip the town if I could.

This listing currently says open all year however I’m staying tonight and have been told they close for winter tomorrow (2 Nov). Suggest checking their website for reopening date.

Camino de Sant…

This is a traditional, clean, simple donativo albergue with a one-room large dormitory, that has wonderful medieval-style paintings all over the walls and ceiling. There is a microwave for pilgrims to use and a large table and benches, if you want to buy your own food (in the nearby supermarket) and eat with your fellow pilgrims, in the traditional and socially-bonding way of the Camino.
It is an old building so prone to being cold (a boon on the hot August day and night I was there) but the albergue also provides blankets for those who want them.
No evidence of bed bugs when I was there and all mattresses and pillows have the thick rubber/plastic blue covers that keep bedbugs at bay. I would definitely stay here again. (Monastery tours at 10.30, 11.30, 12.30, 16.30 & 17.30 on weekdays and 12.30 on Sundays. Tour costs 5€ and last about 45 mins. Beautiful to see the inside of the monastery and cloister).
